CO ROSCOMMON, Ireland - A sophisticated cannabis grow house has been discovered during a gardai search of the grounds of a home in Castleplunket, Co. Roscommon.
Officers seized approximately €77,000 worth of drugs during the course of the search which was carried out at around 10:30am on Saturday morning.
The value of the suspected cannabis plants recovered by garda was approximately €56,800. Officers also seized about €20,000 worth of cannabis. In total, cannabis valued at €76,800 was recovered.
A man in his early 40s was arrested in relation to the seizures and was initially detained at Castlerea Garda station.
Garda in Roscommon have since charged the man and on Saturday night he was released on bail, but is due to appear before Castlerea District Court, on Friday 18 June, 2021 at 11:30am.
Investigations, gardai say, are ongoing.
