Sophisticated fare for Super Bowl Sunday - The Inquirer and Mirror

(Feb. 4, 2021) Late last summer, I read that a book by Southern chef John Currence cleverly titled “Tailgreat” was soon to be released. I eagerly preordered a copy, naively thinking the beloved football-season pastime of tailgating might somehow be able to resume in the fall.

I, of course, was wrong and realized when my copy of “Tailgreat” (Ten Speed Press, 2020) arrived that its crowd-sized, communally-shared recipes for over-the-top picnic fare would certainly not be appropriate to feature in a “Good Dish” column in our ongoing time of COVID-19.

All the media talk, hype and posts about this weekend’s upcoming 55th Super Bowl game have prompted me to take a second peruse through “Tailgreat” in the hopes of finding suitable fare for what one e-mailed missive I received last week brilliantly christened as “homegating.”
