Diane Sorochuk is a 41-year-old mother of three and a school principal. She needed to upgrade her hairstyle for something a little more fun and sophisticated for summer. She hasn’t had her hair done in several months and was ready for a big change.
Diane has long and medium density hair. Her blond highlights were overgrown and looking drab, lifeless and brassy. I wanted to refresh her look by brightening her overall colour and lightening her dark base colour to a light cool ash-brown. I started by applying foil highlights throughout her hair followed by lightening her background foundation colour. After it processed, I applying a drop-root colour refinement to the root area, followed by a cool-blond gloss on her mid-lengths and ends, resulting is a pretty natural-ash finish.
I cleansed her hair with Pureology — Hydrate Shampoo and Conditioner, then layered the mid-lengths and ends with Oribe — Bright Blonde Essential Priming Serum for added hydration and heat protection. I eliminated six inches from her length to create a beautifully texture and tousled diagonal forward shape.

Before styling I applied KMS — Add Volume Styling Foam to her hair from roots to ends then hand-dried her hair. I used a round brush to soften her ends followed by a curling wand to create a soft bend. To finish the style, I used Oribe — Apres Beach Wave and Shine Spray to create a tousled style.
Makeup:
Diane’s makeup was very simple, as our main focus was to strategically brighten her complexion and define her hazel-green eyes. We used a khaki green and shimmery shadow on her eyelid and defined her shape by using a soft brown waterproof eye pencil. We curled her lashes and coated them with black mascara. Her eyebrows already have a good shape but needed to be filled and reshaped in order to make a stronger impact for enhancing her eyes. We dusted her face with bronzer and blush and finished her look with a lip tint to enhance her natural lip colour.
